About Me

Hi there, and thanks for stopping by my little corner on the web!

In case you're new around here, I'd love to introduce myself!

I'm Katrina; lover of Jesus, wife to Nathan, and mother to our four little boys.

I was blessed to be raised by wonderful, God-fearing parents in a home full of love, laughter, and life lessons.  Home-educated from first grade through college, I am deeply grateful for the value my parents placed on the eternal state of the souls of their children, and thus their desire to nurture us in the Word of God, to teach us character, and to provide us with a quality education that focused on a love for learning!

Following my high school graduation, I decided to devote my life to ministry wherever the Lord opened the door.  At different seasons, my days were filled with teaching piano, tutoring children, discipling young women, serving busy mothers, studying the Bible for college credit, counseling at a crisis pregnancy center, learning Spanish, and caring for orphans.  Over the years, these adventures took me to Peru, Haiti, Ukraine, and Bolivia, several states in the U.S., and my own backyard of Houston, Texas.  I loved being single and serving God in all these ways...yet, I also cherished the dream of someday getting married and raising a family.

In January of 2012, upon my return from a six-month sojourn in Bolvia, the Lord saw fit to bring into my life the man of these dreams for whom I had prayed for so many years!  God wrote the most beautiful love story for us (which you can read on this blog!), and we were married in May of that year.

My husband, Nathan, is a pastor with a passion to preach and teach the Word of God in line with its historical, literal context.  Currently, we are living southeastern Ohio, serving at Faith Baptist Church.  In his spare time, Nathan enjoys playing basketball, fishing, making desserts, and working on our small homestead.  His long-term goals include training pastors in other parts of the world that don't have access to solid, Biblical teaching and raising a family that will carry forth the Godly legacy with which we have been blessed.  He is a wonderful, amazing man, a gifted preacher, and my best friend!

The Lord has seen fit to bless us with four boys (so far)!

Isaac

Josiah (holding Baby Silas)

Adoniah

Silas

Thus, the adventures continue as I now find myself in the roles of helpmeet, homemaker, pastor's wife, mother, homeschool teacher, and homesteader!  God's goodness truly fills my life to overflowing!

And now, just for fun - these are a few of my favorite things:

Mountains
Dark chocolate
Making music
Baby coos
Daisies
A good book
Anything autumn
Playing volleyball
Hand-written letters
Rainbows
Long walks with my husband
Snuggling my baby boy
Journals
Teddy bears
Teaching the Bible
Hugs and kisses from Nathan

Hi Katrina!

This is Ana Lerma. I used to write letters with your sister, and we've met at Maiden's Quest, but it has been such a long time! I also have read your blog for many years.

A couple friends and I are organizing a conference on modest clothing design, and I wondered if you might share it with your readers. No worries at all if you don't care to, just thought I'd ask! :) You can find out about the conference here: http://www.modestfashionguild.org/conference/ I can also email you more info or an article my friend wrote about the journey of putting on the conference.

Congratulations for your new baby on the way! Blessing for you and your family!

Hi Ana! My apologies for just now responding to your message from nearly a month ago! Eek! I didn't realize it had been that long already! I finally had the chance tonight to look over the website you shared, and yes, I would be happy to share about it with my readers. :) I'll probably wait until after Thanksgiving has passed. If there is any more info you would like to share with me, feel free to email me at purefragrance99@gmail.com Thanks, Ana!
